Compassionate In-Home Support Through California State-Funded Programs
At Seniors Helping Seniors of San Diego and Orange County, we proudly provide care to eligible individuals through California’s network of Regional Centers – a statewide system designed to support people with developmental disabilities and their families. In San Diego and Orange Counties, we work with local Regional Centers to offer in-home assistance for eligible seniors and adults with disabilities, empowering them to live safely, comfortably, and independently.
What Are Regional Centers?
Regional Centers are nonprofit organizations contracted by the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to coordinate services for individuals with qualifying developmental disabilities such as cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, and intellectual disabilities. These services are tailored to each person’s needs and may be fully funded by the state, removing financial barriers to quality care.
Seniors Helping Seniors partners with these centers to deliver trusted, compassionate home care for individuals who qualify through programs such as Self-Determination, Independent Living Services (ILS), and Supported Living Services (SLS).
How We Work With Regional Centers
We collaborate with case managers and families to create personalized care plans that meet the goals outlined in the client’s Individual Program Plan (IPP). Whether you are transitioning from another provider or just starting with the Regional Center, we’ll walk you through the approval and onboarding process. (not sure what level of service you provide here, but it’s always important to state what you do or don’t do because paperwork is crazy confusing for most and is why they seek out help) Once authorized by the Regional Centers, our team of mature, experienced caregivers will begin services tailored to your unique needs.

Our Care Providers
Our mature care providers come from many walks of life. Many come from helping professions such as nursing, teaching and other human services and most have experience in caregiving for friends and family. Our team members have many different skills and interests but have a common desire to serve seniors.
For clients requiring a high level of care, our Certified Nursing Assistants are licensed and professionally trained to safely assist with bathing (in or out of bed), dressing, transfers and mobility assistance, medications reminders and more. Our team members have many different skills and interests but have a common desire to serve other seniors.
All of our care providers go through a rigorous screening process that includes interviews, reference checks and a comprehensive background check. After pre-employment screening, caregivers receive ongoing training, including an infection control module: Understanding Coronavirus, a TB test and bonding by our Liability Insurance carrier. Many of our care providers have also been vaccinated already.
Know Exactly What's Going On In The Home
Wouldn’t it be great to always know what was going on in the home each day? Our service includes “The Family Room” which provides family members real time online information on upcoming schedules, the caregiver team, medications, invoices, and even comments and details for the tasks that were completed during each visit.
Your entire family can be in the loop!
Create unlimited logins for family members to access the care calendar, view notes from past shifts, and even pay or split a portion of the bill. Add to-do items and see which caregivers are coming into the home. With The Family Room you are always in contact and in control.
